Volunteers will be the soul of this Event, as in every Event.
Volunteering in Greece is rooted in the social conscience and has been for centuries. The basic principles that characterize Greek society are reflected in the Volunteer Movement and this is where they are expressed strongly.
For the Olympic Games 2004 200,000 Greeks applied, from which 80,000 volunteers were eventually chosen, 2,000 of them offered their services in Patras. Since then a significant Volunteer Movement has been established in Patras and has participated in all National events the city has hosted.
Under the responsibility of the Municipality of Patras a permanent body of volunteers operates with more than 300 individual who offer their services to all events whether National or International.
This Volunteer body is available to the Organizing Committee for the Mediterranean Beach Games. These volunteers and more than 2,300 members of local Beach Sports Unions will be a powerful force for the 2nd Mediterranean Beach Games..
